The Challenge: Capturing the Speed of a Record-Breaking Team
Bobteam Vogt is a powerhouse in Swiss bobsledding. With a staggering top speed of 156.9 km/h, they are the second-fastest bobsled ever recorded. To match this elite performance, the team required a visual identity that felt as dynamic, strong, and cool as their reputation on the ice.
The Concept: Where Professionalism Meets Performance
For this commercial shoot, the creative direction was clear: Contrast the grit of the sport with the sophistication of a professional team. We focused on four core visual pillars:
The Sled: The high-tech engine of their success.
The Ice: Their natural habitat, used as a high-reflection studio floor.
The Race Suits: Representing speed and Swiss precision.
The Suits: Showcasing the professional side of the athletes.

Technical Execution: 7 Flashes on an Ice Rink
Bringing a bobsled onto a hockey rink in Zug presented a unique technical challenge. To achieve a "Dark & Moody" look in such a massive, reflective space, I utilized a 7-flash lighting setup. This allowed us to sculpt the athletes with sharp rim lighting while maintaining deep, dramatic shadows. The result is a high-contrast, cinematic aesthetic that emphasizes the power and focus of the team.
Versatile Branding: From Ice Rinks to Parking Garages
Beyond the action on the ice, we utilized the industrial textures of the rink's parking garage to produce professional athlete portraits. This shift in location provided the team with a diverse portfolio of images—ranging from epic action shots for sponsors to clean, modern portraits for autograph cards and media kits.
